Skid for gland steam control for steam turbines

​The gland steam unit pressure controls the steam turbine labyrinth shaft glands. During turbine start-up the shaft are supplied with sealing steam, pressure reduced to 1.1bar(a). Once the turbine is in operation, due to higher pressure in the turbine, steam will leak back to the gland steam unit. When the pressure exceeds 1.1bar(a) the inlet valve will close. The system is then self sustaining and the pressure is control to 1.3bar(a). Before the steam passes the overflow control valve it is desuperheated to 150°C. Water that not been evaporated will be removed in a separator.
